Ben Vereen (born October 10, 1946) is an United States|American actor. Born in Miami, Florida, he has appeared in numerous Broadway theatre|Broadway shows, was nominated for a Tony Award for Jesus Christ Superstar in 1972 and won one for the show Pippin (musical)|Pippin in 1973. Vereen is currently starring in the Broadway musical Wicked starring as the Wizard.
