Betty Garrett (born May 23, 1919 in St. Joseph, Missouri) is an United States|American actor|actress and dancer. She is probably best known for her role as "Frank DeFazio"'s wife and "Laverne DeFazio"'s stepmother, "Edna Babish", on the 1970s Happy Days spin-off, Laverne and Shirley. She also played Archie Bunker's liberal neighbor "Irene Lorenzo" on All in the Family from 1973 until 1975. She was married to Larry Parks, star of The Jolson Story and one of the "Blacklisted Hollywood 19" to be brought before the House Un-American Activities Committee. Although she herself was never accused, her career Hollywood suffered because of her husband's predicament.
