Bradley Whitford (born 10 October 1959) is an United States|American actor. Whitford is best known for his role as Deputy Chief of Staff Josh Lyman on the NBC television drama The West Wing (television)|The West Wing. For that role, he won an Emmy Award|Emmy in 2001 for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. Whitford is also popular for his role as the evil businessman Eric Gordon in the 1995 smash comedy Billy Madison. He also played in the Broadway version of A Few Good Men. Born in Madison, Wisconsin|Madison, Wisconsin, Whitford majored in English and Theater at Wesleyan University and then went on to receive a master's degree from The Juilliard School. He is married to actress Jane Kaczmarek, best known for her role on Malcolm in the Middle. They live in Los Angeles, California with their three children. In 2005, Bradley Whitford wrote the episode "Faith Based Initiative" for the sixth season of the The West Wing (television)|The West Wing.
