B
Brent Robert Barry (born December 31, 1971 in Hempstead, New York) is an American professional basketball player, currently with the NBA's San Antonio Spurs. He is the son of Hall of Famer Rick Barry, and is arguably the best basketball player of his three brothers -Scooter, Drew, and Jon - who also share his profession. Brent has also played for the Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls, and the Seattle SuperSonics.

Brent Barry played his high school basketball at athletic powerhouse, De La Salle High School in Concord, California before receving a basketball scholarship to play at Oregon State University. Barry earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology from Oregon State University. He was selected by the Denver Nuggets in the first round (15th pick) of the 1995 NBA draft before being traded to the Clippers.

Brent has also won the Slam Dunk contest in the NBA in the All Star weekend in 1996 with an spectacular dunk in which he flew from the free throw line to sink the ball in the rim. In addition, Barry is generally regarded as one the NBA's most fundamentally sound players, which has allowed him to play 3 positions, as well as Point forward.

In the summer of 2004, Barry was signed as a free agent by the San Antonio Spurs, after spending most of the season as a reserve, Barry was inserted into the starting lineup during the first round of the NBA playoffs. The new lineup helped the Spurs comeback from a 0-1 series deficit to beat the Nuggets in the first round of the playoffs four games to one.

As of 2005 he is a member of the San Antonio Spurs and has earned his first championship ring, as the Spurs have won the 2005 NBA Championship.

Brent and his father Rick Barry have become only the second father-son duo to both win NBA Championships as players; the first was Matt Guokas Sr. and his so
