Carol Lynley (born Carole Ann Jones on February 13, 1942 in New York City, New York) is an United States|American actress. In 1959 she was voted the Golden Globe Award for "Most Promising Newcomer – Female." Carol Lynley is probably best known for her role in the 1972 action drama, The Poseidon Adventure. She was one of the most popular film actresses of the late fifties and sixties. After 'The Poseidon Adventure' her career started to slide downhill. By the 1980's she would have been affectionately referred to as a has-been. actor-stub
