Carrot Top (born Scott Thompson on February 25,
1967 in Cocoa Beach, Florida) is a red-headed prop
comic|prop comedian who currently appears in
commercials for AT&T's collect-calling service. He
is often comic fodder for others who dismiss him
as unfunny, but sells out hundreds of concert
dates a year despite this reputation. He spends 15
weeks a year doing live performances in Las Vegas
and does over 100 shows a year on tour. He is a
graduate of Florida Atlantic University in Boca
Raton, Florida. 
He originally started his career as the class
clown while still in high school and graduated up
to making his friends laugh in college. When
someone suggested he try out for the college
talent show he tried a few of his old jokes and
everyone loved it. The next year he tried it again
only this time he added a few props to his act and
some jokes about the school. He tried to break out
in the comedy club circuit, but after unsuccessful
attempts he gave up. When a club owner couldn't
believe he couldn't get a gig and booked him for
the New Year's Eve night at his own club. Carrot
Top says he chose that name because it was the
only one people called him that was safe to say in
public.  

He has also appeared in movies, including 1998 in
film|1998's Chairman of the Board (movie)|Chairman
of The Board.
