Dylan McDermott attended acting school at Fordham
University and got his first break as an actor in
the film In the Line of Fire.  Through his
connections with Clint Eastwood, McDermott was
able to land his first major gig as protagonist
lawyer Bobby Donnell on David E. Kelley's legal
drama, The Practice.

McDermott is the son of Diane and Richard "Mac"
McDermott, ex-husband of Eve Ensler who authored
"The Vagina Monologues."

He married Shiva Rose McDermott in November, 1995.
They have one child, daughter Colette, and are
expecting a second daughter in September.
