Edgar Laprade (born October 10, 1919 in Mine Centre, Ontario) was a Canada|Canadian professional ice hockey Defenceman (ice hockey)|defenseman who played for the New York Rangers in the National Hockey League. He also spent time with the Port Arthur Bearcats of the Thunder Bay Senior Hockey League. Edgar was one of Canada's finest senior hockey players before joining the NHL. He helped the Bearcats win the 1940 Allan Cup, before going to the Rangers in 1945. While with the Rangers, he would win the 1946 Calder Memorial Trophy and the 1950 Lady Byng Memorial Trophy.
