Edmundo Alves de Souza Neto (born April 2, 1971 in NiterÃģi) is a Brazilian football (soccer)|football player. Edmundo played for Brazil national football team|Brazil at the Football World Cup 1998|1998 World Cup and is known for his fiery temper and subsequent receiving of numerous red cards and earning the nickname The Animal. Edmundo played several seasons for Clube de Regatas Vasco da Gama|Vasco da Gama. After three seasons playing in the J. League for Tokyo Verdy 1969 and Urawa Red Diamonds, he returned to Rio de Janeiro to play for Clube de Regatas do Flamengo|Flamengo forming a partnership called The Bad Boys along side long time friend Romario and also with Savio. The "Bad Boys" didn't last long as it wasn't as successful as predicted followed by a move to ACF Fiorentina|Fiorentina to form an attack with Argentina|Argentine striker Gabriel Batistuta. Edmundo now plays for Figueirense Futebol Clube|Figuerense. footybio-stub
