Eileen Heckart (March 29, 1919 - December 31, 2001) was an United States|American actress. She won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her work in the 1972 movie, Butterflies Are Free and was nominated in 1956 for her performance as the bereaved, besotted Mrs. Daigle in The Bad Seed. Heckart was familiar to TV audiences with starring roles in The 5 Mrs. Buchanans, Out of the Blue, Trauma Center, Partners in Crime and guest spots in Murder One, Cybill and many other shows.
