V
Vincenzo "Enzo" Scifo (born February 19, 1966) is
a Belgium|Belgian football (soccer)|football
midfielder.

Scifo was born to Italy|Italian parents and proved
himself an highly promising talent in youth
football. He joined the Belgium side R.A.A.
Louviéroise aged fourteen but soon transferred to
R.S.C. Anderlecht, making his first team debut in
1983. He began to play internationally for Belgium
in June 1984 against Socialist Federal Republic of
Yugoslavia|Yugoslavia. He moved to Inter Milan in
1987 but did very poorly, soon moving to FC
Girondins de Bordeaux|Girondins Bordeaux in 1988
where he again disappointed. His career was
revived by a successful move to AJ Auxerre in
1989, which led to a return to Italy with Torino
Calcio|Torino in 1991. He then moved to AS Monaco
(1993) before ending his career with his first
club, Anderlecht (1997). He retired in 2000 after
being diagnosed with chronic arthritis.

He tried his hand at coaching with R. Charleroi
S.C., joining them for the 2000-01 season.
Indifferent results led to his resignation in June
2002.  He currently trains A.F.C. Tubize, a
Belgian Second Division team.

He appeared for Belgium national football
team|Belgium in the Football World Cup|World Cups
of Football World Cup 1986|1986, Football World
Cup 1990|1990, Football World Cup 1994|1994, and
Football World Cup 1998|1998, playing 16 games. In
total he gained 84 international caps and scored
18 goals.
