Ernest Eugene Barnes Jr. (born July 15, 1938 in Durham, North Carolina) is an United States|American artist. He is probably best known for his painting Sugar Shack which is featured in the credits of the 1970s United States|American sitcom Good Times. His work is characterized by elongated figures, usually in motion. Owing to his athletic background, Barnes played 5 season in the NFL, many of his paintings have a sports theme. He was named Official Artist of the 1984 Summer Olympics.
