Ezra Taft Benson (February 22, 1811 – September 3, 1869) was an early leader in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Like his progeny, Benson was involved in the leadership of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as an Apostle (Mormonism)|Apostle. He was ordained on July 16, 1846. He replaced John E.
