Biography of Frank Ahearn - Hockey
Biography
F
Frank Ahern (born May 10, 1886 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada - November 17, 1962) was an owner in the National Hockey League. Frank started with amateur hockey following World War I. In the early 1920s, he grew tired of the gray line between amatuerism and professionalism. He helped his hometown Ottawa Senators win four Stanley Cups by 1927. After that he started offloading his best players for financial purposes. He was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1962.
