Biography of Hedy Burress -

Hedy Burress (born Heather Burress, October 3,
1973 in Edwardsville, Illinois) is an United
States|American actress.  She attended Millikin
University in Decatur, Illinois, before relocating
to Los Angeles, California, in 1995.  She has
acted in many television programs and film|motion
pictures since 1996.  

Burress is known by video game players as the
English language|English voice actor of Yuna in
the PlayStation 2 games Final Fantasy X and Final
Fantasy X-2.  Her Yuna performance in Final
Fantasy X is controversial and considered by some
players to be grating.  She has been accused of
synchronizing Yuna's computer graphics|CG lips,
which were programmed to speak Japanese
language|Japanese, not English.  Several gamers
believe that Burress did better in Final Fantasy
X-2 than she did in Final Fantasy X, and believed
that she took voice lessons between the two
projects. She is also slated to reprise the role
of Yuna in the forthcoming sequel to Kingdom
Hearts.

Burress auditioned for the role of Dorothy Wheeler
in the motion picture Valentine (movie)|Valentine,
but that role was handed over to Jessica Capshaw. 
However, director Jamie Blanks still wanted
Burress to star in the motion picture.  During the
meeting, they looked at each other in the eye and
both said, "Ruthie", resulting in Burress playing
as Ruthie Walker.
