Igor Belanov (born September 25, 1960 in Odessa, Soviet Union) is a former soccer striker|forward, who was named European Footballer of the Year in 1986. Belanov played for SKA Odesa (1979-80), FC Chornomorets Odesa (1981-84), and Dynamo Kyiv (1985-89), for whom he won the Cup Winners Cup in 1986. He scored a hat trick for the USSR national football team|Soviet Union in the Football World Cup 1986|1986 World Cup against Belgium national football team|Belgium in a losing effort. Overall, Belanov played 33 times for the USSR, and scored eight goals.
