James Norris Sr. (born December 10, 1879 in St. Catherines, Ontario, Canada - December 4, 1952) was a owner in the National Hockey League. James was owner of the Detroit Red Wings from 1933 until 1952. During this time, the Red Wings won the Stanley Cup five times. The Norris Trophy and the old Norris Division are both named in honor of James. He was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1958.
