Javier Adelmar Pupi Zanetti (born August 10, 1973 in Buenos Aires) is an Argentina|Argentine football player, the current captain of Internazionale|Inter Milan. On the club level, Zanetti has played for Talleres de Escalada and Club Atlético Banfield|Banfield before moving to Italy and Inter in 1995. El Pupi has been the captain of the Inter for over 8 years. For Argentina national football team|Argentina, he has been capped 101 times (as of July 2005) and played for his country at the Football World Cup 1998|1998 and Football World Cup 2002|2002 World Cups, being the captain on many occasions. Zanetti was named by Pelé as one of the FIFA 100|top 125 greatest living footballers in March 2004.
