Biography of Jeanne Stuart -

Jeanne Stuart (August 13, 1908 â€“ February 12,
2003) was a Great Britain|British stage and film
actress.

Born Ivy Sweet in London, hers is a fairy tale
story of a girl from a working class family who
grew up to be a glamorous actress and who would
eventually marry a Mayer Amschel Rothschild
family|Rothschild family member. 

Using the stage name Jeanne Stuart, she performed
on the London stage, on Broadway, and in motion
pictures. She made her motion picture debut in
1931 and went on to perform and star in more than
twenty films.

She was married in 1933 to businessman Bernard
Docker but their union lasted only a few months.
She then had a three-year relationship with
American actor James Stewart (actor)|James
Stewart.

After World War II, she moved to the United
States, taking up residence on Long Island. There,
she would meet Eugene de Rothschild|Baron EugÃ¨ne
Daniel de Rothschild, grandson of Salomon Mayer
Rothschild of the Austrian branch of the banking
family. They married in 1952 after which she gave
up her acting career. For a time, she and her
husband lived in New York City but eventually made
their permanent home in Monte Carlo, Monaco.

Baroness Jeanne de Rothschild died in Monte Carlo
in 2003.
