Joseph "Joey" Lawrence (born April 20, 1976 in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA) is an United
States|American actor. He became successful
through the TV show Blossom (television)|Blossom
in the 1990s, in which he played the character
Joey. At that time he was also successful by his
nickname JOEY Lawrence. In later years he switched
over to Joseph Lawrence.
He has also starred in shows such as Gimme a
Break!, American Dreams, Brotherly Love and Run of
the House. He has two brothers--actors Matthew
Lawrence and Andrew Lawrence. One of his
international movie credits include "Urban
Legends: Final Cut" (2000) together with Jennifer
Morrison, Matthew Davis and Hart Bochner.
He had a short music career. While still being a
teenage heart-throb and famous from his TV show
Blossom (television)|Blossom, he recorded his
debut album (titled: "Joey Lawrence") in 1993. The
album was produced by US producers, such as Terry
Lupton (Michael Learns To Rock, Jamie Stevens,
Apollonia Kotero), Elliot Wolff (Paula Abdul), or
Ian Price (Taja Sevelle, Sheena Easton). The album
included the international hit single "Nothin`My
Love Can't Fix" (UK #13). Two more singles from
this album also managed to crack the UK Top50 ("I
Can't Help Myself" #27, "Stay Forever" #41).
A second album, "Soulmate" followed three years
later but did not produce any hit singles.
He is married to former producer Michelle Vella.
The couple have since separated.
He is also commonly mistaken for a popular young
