John Bates Clark (January 26 1847-March 21 1938) was an American neo-classical economics|neo-classical economist. He was one of the pioneers of the marginalist revolution and opponent to the Institutional economics|Institutionalist school of economics. The John Bates Clark Medal, one of the most prestigious awards in the field of economics, is named after him.
