Jon Dahl Tomasson (born August 29, 1976 in Copenhagen) is a Denmark|Danish football (soccer) player who currently plays for Germany|German Bundesliga (football)|Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart. A much travelled striker with a knack of scoring crucial goals, the predatory Tomasson is Denmark's primary attacking threat. Tomasson's Denmark national football team|Denmark debut came in Croatia national football team|Croatia in March 1997, and although he missed out on the Wc|1998, he played at Ec2|2000. He also played in the following edition of both tournaments, scoring four goals in the Wc|2002 and three in Ec2|2004, where he made the All-Star Squad. As of July 2005, he has been capped 75 times, scoring 36 goals for Denmark. Tomasson played with SC Heerenveen between 1994 and 1997 and had an unsuccessful spell with Newcastle United F.C.|Newcastle United in 1997-98. He then moved back to Holland to Feyenoord Rotterdam and played there until 2002, before moving to A.C. Milan|AC Milan on a free transfer. After Christian Vieri joined A.C. Milan|Milan in July 2005, Tomasson left the Italy|Italian club for VfB Stuttgart|Stuttgart.
