Julie Isabel Bishop (born 17 July 1956),
Australia|Australian 
politician, has been a Liberal Party of
Australia|Liberal member of the 
Australian House of Representatives since October
1998, representing the Division of Curtin, Western
Australia. She was born in Lobethal, South
Australia, and was educated at the University of
Adelaide and the Harvard Business School. She was
a barrister and solicitor and a businesswoman in
Perth, Australia|Perth before entering politics.

Bishop was Chair of the Town Planning Appeal
Tribunal of Western Australia, a Senate Member of
Murdoch University, a director of the Special
Broadcasting Service (SBS) and a director and
fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.

Bishop has been Minister for Ageing since 2003.
