Kamal eddin Behzad (sometimes Bihzad) (c. 1450 in Herat – c. 1535) was a miniaturist and the founder of Persian miniature painting in the Safavid era. His most famous works are Masmu'a (Taymur History, 1468), a scene from Sa'di's Bustan (1477) and Majnun. Many of his paintings were done between 1486 and 1495. Behzad lived in Tabriz and died in 1520 A.H.
