Kevin Sorbo (born September 24, 1958) is an United States|American actor. Born in Mound, Minnesota and educated at then-Minnesota State University Moorhead|Moorhead State University he worked as a model (person)|model for print and television advertising before landing the role of Hercules in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. After the cancellation of Hercules, he played the starring role of Captain Dylan Hunt in Andromeda (television)|Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda from 2000 to 2005. He has been considered for and lost out on a number of major roles including Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman and The X-Files. He did, however star in the movie Kull the Conqueror.
