Reginald Leo McKern (March 16, 1920–July 23,
2002), better known simply as Leo McKern, was an
Australia|Australian actor who appeared in
numerous United Kingdom|British television
programmes, film|movies and in over 200
theater|stage roles. He was appointed an Officer
of the Order of Australia in 1983.

Some notable roles:
* Horace Rumpole in the TV series Rumpole of the
Bailey
* Cyril in the film A Foreign Field (1993 in
film|1993)
* Number Two in the TV series The Prisoner (there
were several Number Twos; the one played by McKern
appeared in three episodes including the final
two)
* Ryan in the film Ryan's Daughter
* Thomas Cromwell in the film, A Man for All
Seasons (1966)
* The murderous holy man in the Beatles' movie
Help (movie)|Help
* A newspaper reporter in the British doomsday
film, The Day the Earth Caught Fire
* Paddy Button, the old sailor stranded with two
children on a lush tropical island in the 1980
remake of The Blue Lagoon (1980 film)|The Blue
Lagoon
* The Leader of the Opposition in The Mouse that
Roared
* Imperius, the reclusive priest in Ladyhawke
* Several roles in the late 1950s television
version of The Adventures of Robin Hood
