Lukas Podolski (born Łukasz Podolski, on June 4, 1985 in Gliwice, Poland) is a Polish-Germans|Polish-German football (soccer)|football player. He plays for 1. FC Köln. Podolski played for Germany national football team|Germany at Ec2|2004, where he was the squad's youngest player. He also attended the Fifa Confederations Cup in 2005 and scored 3 goals. Podolski plays in the position of striker. He often sneaks back into the midfield to get the ball, then oversprinting his opponents and scoring with a remarkably cold-blooded finishing touch. As of 2005, he is seen as one of the most promising German players. Germany coach Jurgen Klinsmann is continously praising him because he is lethal both with the head and with his legs.
