Mae Margaret Whitman (born June 9, 1988) is an
United States|American actor|actress who
participated in State Of Grace, along with Alia
Shawkat, among others. She played the title role,
12-year-old Grace, on the show. She also guest
stars on the TV show Arrested Development (TV
series)|Arrested Development, where she plays the
role of Ann Veal, George-Michael Bluth's strange
girlfriend.

Mae started out going to an audition for a voice
over in a commercial about Tyson|Tyson Chicken.
She got the job, beating out her own mother for
it. This caused a lot of surprise to her mother
Pat Musick who is an accomplished actress herself,
but it was satisfying to her finding out young Mae
had gotten some of the skills she did. 

At the age of four, Mae made her film debut,
acting alongside Meg Ryan in When a Man Loves a
Woman. She played Ryan's daughter in the movie. 

She has also appeared on Independence Day
(movie)|Independence Day as the President's
daughter, (alongside Will Smith) and in Hope
Floats, with Sandra Bullock. Mae now has a
recurring role as Ann Veal on FOX's Arrested
Development.
