Mahesh Shrinivas Bhupathi (born June 7, 1974,
Madras, India) is a professional tennis player
from India. He turned professional in 1995. He
currently resides in Bangalore.
==The 1999 season==
In 1999, Bhupathi won three doubles titles with
Leander Paes including French Open|Roland Garros
and Wimbledon Championships|Wimbledon. He and
Leander became the first doubles team to reach
finals of all four Grand Slams in same year since
1952. On April 26, they became the World No. 1
doubles team. He also won the US Open (tennis)|US
Open mixed doubles with Ai Sugiyama of Japan. He
won the 2005 Wimbledon mixed-doubles championship
with Mary Pierce of France.
