Marlene Hagge (b. February 16 1934, Eureka, South
Dakota) is a professional golfer. She was one of
the thirteen founders of the LPGA and was inducted
into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2002.

Hagge took up golf at the age of three and won the
Long Beach City Boys Junior title when she was 10.
Three years later she won several adult amateur
titles and became the youngest player to make the
cut at the U.S. Women's Open (golf)|U.S. Women's
Open, finishing eighth. In 1949, at the age of 15,
she became the youngest athlete ever to be named
Associated Press Athlete of the Year. She was the
youngest of the thirteen women who founded the
LPGA in 1950, and remains the youngest ever member
of the LPGA Tour. 

Hagge won twenty six titles on the tour between
1952 and 1972. She was eighteen years and 14 days
old when she won the Sarasota Open in 1952, and as
of 2005 she remains the youngest winner in LPGA
history. However she fared relatively poorly in
the women's majors|major championships, winning
just one, namely the 1956 LPGA Championship. 1956
proved to be her career year, with a first place
finish on the money list and a tour leading eight
victories.
