Noreena Hertz (born in England) is a campaigner
and economist.  She is Professor of Global
Political Economy at the University of Utrecht and
has published books and newspaper articles on
globalization and Russia. She used to work for the
World Bank. She has written the books  The Debt
Threat: How Debt Is Destroying the Developing
World , and  IOU - the Story of the Debt . She was
recently voted one of the 'Best Young British' in
the New Statesman.
