Omar Chkhaidze (born 16 April 1944) is a Georgia
(country)|Georgian, Russian painters|painter and
artists|artist.

Born in Tbilisi, Georgia, the artist has received
versatile and serious art education.  Omar
Chkhaidze studied with the best artists of Georgia
and Soviet Union|USSR. Omar graduated from Art
School in 1966, then the Academy of Arts in
Tbilisi 1973. 

Whilst still a student Omar participated in
numerous art exhibitions in Georgia and Russia.
Later he had exhibitions in many countries of the

Paintings by Omar Chkhaidze are in museums in
Russia and Georgia; in the collection of the Pope
in the Vatican City|Vatican, in galleries and
private collections in Holland, England, Russia,
Switzerland, the USA, Japan, Israel, India,
Turkey, Spain, France, Portugal, Canada, Belgium,
Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, Poland,
Yugoslavia, Russia and Georgia. The artist has a
gallery featuring his own paintings in Moscow.

The artist has the personal catalogue "100
Paintings by Omar Chkhaidze" and his paintings are
in the catalogue "The Best artists of Russia of
the Millennium's Boundary".

In Russia and Georgia his creativity is marked by
the rank "Deserved artist of Georgia". The artist
Omar Chkhaidze is the member "Union of artists of
the USSR", "Union of artists of Georgia",
"International Federation of Artists UNESCO". He
is the winner of exhibitions "Gold Brush -
'1999-2002'". 

In the end of XX century and the beginning of XXI
century Omar Chkhaidze obtains the recognition as
one of the most interesting artists of Georgia and
Russia of XX century. Now the artist has a world
recognition. 

==Art style==

Style of the artist and depth of images in
paintings by Omar Chkhaidze frequently are
compared with such Great Old Masters of a brush as
Amedeo Modigliani (the Italian artist 1884 - 1920)
and Yan Vermeer (the Dutch artist 1632 - 1675).
All these great artists are united by one: "The
Human face is the supreme creation of a Nature", -
sincerely considered these artists. Artist Omar
Chkhaidze has found the harmonious balance -
vision of beauty of the world which has found the
response in many hearts. His portraits and
compositions of the spiritual cycle have salutary

==Technique of painting==

Paintings by Omar Chkhaidze are not afraid of

years his paintings will look as today - perfect
and intact. The pride and the secret of the artist
is his art technique. Each painting has some
hundreds layers of a transparent paint and the
special structure's varnish. Therefore and in five
hundred years of the paints on canvases of the
master will be same bright as now. Sometimes the
artist takes up to some years on creation of the
masterpiece. The master has learned such patience
at the great predecessors.
