Paul McNamee (b. December 12 1954, in Melbourne, Australia) is a former professional tennis player from Australia. During his career he was ranked the World No. 1 men's doubles player. He won 24 men's doubles titles including two at Wimbledon Championships|Wimbledon (in 1980 and 1982) and two at the Australian Open (in 1979 and 1983). He also won two top-level singles titles. (His career-high singles ranking was World No. 24.) McNamee was also a member of the Australian teams which won the Davis Cup in 1983 and 1986. McNamee played a key role in the founding of the Hopman Cup international tennis tournament in 1988.
