Topeka, Kansas-born Sheila Ryan was a film actress. In 1940, Ryan was signed by 20th Century Fox, where she appeared in such films as Dressed to Kill (1941 movie)|Dressed to Kill (1941). She appeared in a number of 1940s films including appearing opposite Laurel and Hardy in two movies. By the late 1940s her career wained and she began appearing in B-movies. One quality film from that part of her career was Railroaded!. Ryan retired from acting in 1958. She is not related to actor Scott Caan's acting mother who shares the same name.
