Sybil Danning was born Sybille Johanna Danninger in Wels, Austria, on May 24, 1949, and became an actress after leaving home at the age of 16; she is best known for her many roles in B-movies, science fiction and sexploitation films. She was a notable sex symbol in the 1980s and some of her best known appearances include Battle Beyond the Stars, Chained Heat, They're Playing with Fire, and an episode of the 1980s TV series V (TV series). She reportedly lost out on the lead female role in Octopussy to Swedish actress Maud Adams.
