Tom Weiskopf (b Nov 9 1942 Massillon, Ohio) is an
American golfer whose best years came in the mid
1970s.

==Career summary==

Weiskopf attended Ohio State University and turned
professional in 1964. His first win on the PGA
Tour came at the Andy-Williams-San Diego Open in
1968, and fifteen more followed by 1982. His
career season was 1973 when he won seven
tournaments around the world, including The Open
Championship|British Open at Royal Troon. This was
to remain his only major championship victory, but
he was a four time runner up at Masters
Tournament|The Masters and also came second at the
1976 U.S. Open (golf)|U.S. Open. He was a member
of the United States team in the 1973 and 1975
Ryder Cups.

Weiskopf joined the Senior PGA Tour (now the
Champions Tour) in 1992 and won several senior
tournaments, including one senior major, the 1995
U.S. Senior Open.  

Weiskopf has established a golf course design
practice, with at least forty courses to his
credit in many parts of the world, including Loch
Lomond, the current venue of the Scottish Open
(golf)| Scottish Open. Many of the courses have
received considerable praise. He has also worked
as a golf analyst for CBS Sports.
