Biography of Trace Adkins - Country Musicians
Biography
A
Adkins began playing music as part of The New Commitments, then moved on to honky tonk bars in the early 1990s. After gaining some fame, he moved to Nashville and signed to Capitol Records. His debut was 1996's Dreamin' Out Loud, which included a number of hits like "(This Ain't) No Thinkin' Thing" and "Every Light in the House". The follow-up (Big Time), however, saw meager sales in comparison to Dreamin' Out Loud. 1999's More was similarly disappointed, but his fourth album, 2001's Chrome (album)|Chrome yielded a top-ten hit in "I'm Tryin'", and, in 2003, "Chrome" did the same. Adkins also pled guilty to a drunk driving charge during this period.
